Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

• AI API providers: Your chat messages are sent to Groq AI (Llama models) and Google Gemini for generating responses. These providers process data subject to their own privacy policies. We share only the message content — not your name, email, or other identifiers.
• Payment processor: PayU India processes payment transactions. We share your order details and contact information for payment processing.
• Email service: Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) processes outbound emails (OTP, welcome emails, receipts).
• Coaching institutes: If your account is linked to a coaching institute, the institute admin can see your name, email, batch, and usage statistics (questions asked, topics). They cannot see your actual chat messages.
• Legal obligations: We may disclose your data to comply with applicable laws, court orders, or government requests.
• Business transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity, with prior notice to you.

AI and Chat Data

When you interact with the eGuru24 AI tutor, your messages are:

• Transmitted to third-party AI API providers (Groq, Google) to generate responses. This transmission includes only the message text and conversation history — not your personal identifiers.
• Stored in our database linked to your account, to power features like chat history and AI usage analytics.
• Reviewed periodically by our team in aggregated or anonymised form to improve AI quality and detect misuse.

Please do not share sensitive personal information (Aadhaar number, bank details, medical information) in the AI chat. The AI chat is for educational queries only.

AI responses are generated automatically and do not represent human professional advice. We do not use your chat data to train our own AI models.

Cookies and Tracking

eGuru24 uses the following types of cookies and local storage:

• Session cookies: Required for login and authentication. These expire when you close your browser.
• Preference cookies: Remember your settings (language preference, voice mode, etc.).
• Analytics: We may use anonymised analytics to understand how users navigate the platform. We do not use Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel on our platform.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling session cookies will prevent you from logging in.

Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

• Account data: Retained as long as your account is active, plus 1 year after deletion to handle disputes or legal obligations.
• Chat history: Retained for 12 months from the date of each conversation, then permanently deleted.
• Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law (GST and Income Tax Act).
• Usage logs: Aggregated usage statistics are retained indefinitely. Raw logs are deleted after 90 days.
• Mock test uploads: Images uploaded for analysis are deleted within 24 hours of processing.

When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement reasonable technical and organisational measures including:

• Passwords stored using bcrypt hashing (never in plain text).
• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
• Access to your personal data restricted to authorised personnel only.
• Regular review of security practices and access controls.
• No storage of full payment card details — PayU handles all sensitive payment data.

However, no internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to security@eguru24.com.

In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

Children's Privacy

eGuru24 is primarily designed for students preparing for competitive exams, including students who may be under 18 years of age.

• We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
• Users aged 13–17 should use the platform with parental or guardian awareness and consent.
• If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided personal data without your consent, please contact us at privacy@eguru24.com and we will delete the data promptly.
• Coaching institutes adding student accounts are responsible for obtaining appropriate parental consent for minor students.
